About the Job
The University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks a Human Resources Financial Officer to provide individualized financial wellness counseling sessions to UAB faculty and staff, and contracted vendors. Plan, create and deliver financial educational seminars and to provide financial educational resources to assist employees. Provide oversight for the financial operations of HR, and to serve as the primary departmental contact for all departmental HR actions and requests. Supervise departmental accounting operations and activities and to make decisions regarding the reporting and use of financial resources. Provide ongoing financial analysis of departmental accounting functions, space and facilities planning and grants administration. Oversee the processing of paperwork necessary to initiate changes to employee records including pay or employment status. Prepare and/or obtain department head approval of new positions, position request forms, reclassification requests, internal job postings and salary increases.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides individualized financial wellness counseling sessions to UAB faculty and staff, and contracted vendors. Plans, creates and delivers financial educational seminars and provides financial educational resources to assist employees.
- Manages the financial operations for HR. Prepares budget submissions, completes monthly reporting, oversees billing and collection operations and handles P-Card transactions. Routes and oversees contracts, and completes cost and space surveys for all HR departments.
- Serves as Workflow Approver Maintenance (WAM) Officer for HR overseeing creations, deletions and maintenance. Processes all ACT documents for HR personnel and prepares position request forms for new job listings, reclassifications and salary increases.
- Provides training and instruction to HR personnel on UAB Oracle Financial Systems.
- Serves as eLas Administrator, as well as Timekeeper for all nonexempt HR employees in Campus KRONOS.
- Serves as facilitator for New HR Employee Orientation, oversees the Blazer Home Program and completes Education Foundation Transactions for all HR Departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: %2452,555.00 - %2460,000.00
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
