RESIDENCE LIFE COORDINATOR (2)
Are you passionate about creating a vibrant and supportive student community? Student Housing and Residence Life within the Division of Student Affairs seeks a dedicated Residence Life Coordinator candidate to lead and manage a dynamic residence hall housing 600-800 students.This position resembles a hall director, community coordinator, or resident director on other campuses. This position requires one to live on campus full-time for 12 months and is typically a two-year assignment. Residence Life Coordinators must have some experience with student life on a college campus, preferably in student housing, student activities, student leadership, etc. Time served as a resident assistant as an undergraduate is strongly preferred. This position is primarily responsible for the housing environment on campus and the attendant safety, support, and administrative duties required by this responsibility. Most residence halls house between 380 and 700 residents. Candidates may be assigned to freshmen or upperclassmen cohorts, depending on experience and availability. Staff recruiting, training, supervision, and development of student and graduate assistants are also key components of this position.
Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
- Recruit, select, train, and evaluate Resident Assistants and a Graduate Assistant (depending on residence hall placement).Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff and coordinate work assignments and special projects
- Assist in implementing educational priorities and learning outcomes through strategy implementation. Employ residential curriculum philosophy as a framework for student and staff development to facilitate intentional connections with residential students and stakeholders
- Collaborate with relevant campus partners to provide academic and interest-based housing; conduct assessments to ensure themed housing areas meet programmatic and learning objectives
- Serves as a preliminary student conduct officer for an assigned residential area; meets with students to review inappropriate behaviors and determine appropriate behaviors and expectations; develops responsible and civil community environments
- Daily administration includes oversight for the implementation of health and safety inspections, follow-up on maintenance work orders, room change, consolidation, check-in/out, and serving as the liaison with cleaning and maintenance staff to oversee the general upkeep of the hall
- Work with Student Housing and Residence Life's international student population to help them adjust to campus life and connect with appropriate resources
- Performs other duties as assigned
Salary Range:%2443,890 - %2444,000
Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
