The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Neurobiology, is seeking a Researcher V.
General Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the overall operation of the lab.
- To oversee projects within the lab.
- To contribute to the design, interpretation and writing of grant proposals and publications.
- To supervise a research team, direct and teach lab practices.
- To manage lab equipment and supplies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs conventional or real-time PCR, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting.
- Performs motor and social behavioral experiments.
- Performs in vitro and in vivo electrophysiological and Ca2+ or voltage-sensitive dye imaging experiments.
- Analyzes data, builds graphs, and writes manuscripts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range%2449,004.80 - %2495,500.00
- Doctorate in a related field and one (1) year of related experience
- ORMaster's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience
- ORBachelorrsquo;s degree in related field and five (5) years of related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences
- Prior experience with molecular biology, electrophysiology, animal behavior, or imaging.
- Previous experience with coding and programming skills.
- Degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, neuroscience, or a closely related field is preferred.
