Position Summary:
The Department of Genetics is looking for an Administrative Associate who can thrive in a fast moving department. This role will serve as administrative support to the Executive Administrator and the Research Division Director and various other stakeholders.
Provide essential administrative and business support services within a school, department or unit which may include budget maintenance, personnel processing, policy communication, facilities/space management, database/files management, office/clinic management or patient flow management. To coordinate programmatic activities and functions. To conduct special projects relating to an officersquo;s administrative operations at the direction of superior. To maintain vendor relationships. To interface with internal and external constituencies.
May provide confidential secretarial/office support functions for department chairs, large division directors, deans or other organization executives. Typically supervises clerical/secretarial staff. May assist in preparation and submission of grants. May be responsible for equipment/furniture repair. May assist with grants and contracts administration. May prepare financial reports and analyses
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Primary contact for the Genetics Chair Office
- Oversee the Seminar Series
- Promotion and Tenure Coordinator
- Facilitate faculty recruitment process
- Manage all conference room and admin calendars
- Manage/oversee/order office supplies for the Chair's office
- Process payment requests for invoices and POs for Chair's office
- One Card Request Forms for new Genetics employees, Physical Security
- Request internal and external access
- Ordering lunch/refreshments for departmental events
- International Students and International Scholars
- Power Point and Excel
Salary Range: %2418.35 - %2429.80
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
