Pay Range: %2421.80- %2435.45 / hour

JobDescription
Provides standard or specialized techniques for evaluation of acquired (somatic) chromosome abnormalities on a variety of specimen types including, but not limited to, amniotic fluids, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), tissue, blood and/or bone marrow. Analysis may include traditional cytogenetic techniques as well as molecular cytogenetics by FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) and/or CGH (array comparative genomic hybridization). Documents analysis, maintains records and performs routine maintenance and monitoring of equipment. Responds to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently credentialed with Cytogenetics Technologist (CG) or Molecular Biology Technologist (MB) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.
