Job Description:
To provide pastoral care services to inpatient/outpatient, staff, physicians, families etc. To visit and counsel patients, staff and families as needed. To assist management with planning and conducting religious services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provides pastoral care to patients, families, physicians, staff, and visitors within the Hospital.
2. Performs administrative duties including staff meetings, departmental planning, documentation, and maintenance of records.
3. Pursues personal and professional growth.
4. Maintains relationships with denominational, religious and community organizations.
5. Provides education programs and consultation to Hospital staff and community organizations.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Denominational endorsement and ordination or equivalency, i.e. must be ordained, commissioned or licensed as a minister, required. Equivalency to Master's in Divinity and four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral education, which includes two (2) consecutive units both from the same continuing education (CE) credit program, required. Must achieve the Association of Professional Chaplains Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) or a level of education or training deemed equivalent by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) within eighteen (18) months of employment required. Currently certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains Board Certified Chaplain or education and training deemed equivalent by the APC required.
