Collaboration:
As a CRNA at UAB, you will collaborate as a member of an anesthesia care team to plan and administer competent, compassionate, and patient-centered anesthesia services. Executing a successful shared mission and vision with all members of the anesthesia care team requires teamwork, professionalism, mutual respect, and continual communication among all members of the care team.
Outside of the operating room, CRNAs serve on interdisciplinary committees and lead projects designed to improve quality and deliver safer, more cost-effective care. They work closely with UABrsquo;s multiple simulation labs to develop training, facilitate research, and implement positive change. They also instruct and train student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs).

Our large team affords flexibility in scheduling that contributes to your need for work/life balance. We offer shifts of 8, 10, and 12 hours, with minimal on-call time. Our scheduling app makes it easy to self-schedule, request time off, and swap shifts if needed.
Tuition Assistance & Loan Forgiveness:
For those interested in pursuing a doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) or masterrsquo;s degree, UAB Medicine provides 100% tuition assistance at UAB through our Educational Assistance Program, while spouses and dependents receive 50% assistance at the undergraduate level.
