3rd shift: 11pm-9:15am, Sun-Wed
Pay Range: $24.00-$27.00
Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for tablet press and/or encapsulation machine operations processes on the designated shift to ensure safe, quality pharmaceutical product manufacturing. This position sets up, adjusts and troubleshoots pharmaceutical tablet press and/or encapsulation machines and ensures manufacturing operations are completed per standard operating procedure. Employee will train and qualify to operate equipment in commercial manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Executes tablet press and/or encapsulation machine manufacturing operations, processes and procedures.
- Coordinates the tablet press and/or encapsulation machine manufacturing efforts for designated manufacturing processes.
- Completes machine set up, operation, tooling changes, adjustments and troubleshooting related to the operation of tablet press and/or encapsulation machine manufacturing equipment.
- Maintains tablet press and/or encapsulation machine manufacturing equipment efficiencies and standards to meet quality manufacturing requirements and established routing times.
- May coordinate the training of new team members or retraining for current team members to ensure all standard operating procedures are followed, as written.
- Maintains appropriate quality and production documentation.
- Responsible for the review of all assigned batch record documentation to ensure error free work.
- Performs general, light maintenance and troubleshooting of tablet press and/or encapsulation machines and related equipment.
- Collaborates with Pharmaceutical Development team on development projects, as required.
- Trains and qualifies to operate other pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment as needed for development or commercial product manufacturing.
- Reviews daily production compared to defined routings and identifies ideas for continuous improvement.
- May assist Technical Services, Maintenance and Engineering departments with new equipment, exception investigations and equipment qualifications.
- Ensures a safe work environment and that team members are performing job duties in accordance with all safety requirements and guidelines.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing, packaging or maintenance/mechanical environment.
- Experience operating automated machinery/and or manufacturing equipment preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Verbal communication skills in order to interact with leadership and team members required.
