DARCARS Lexus of Greenwich is looking for a Tag & Title Coordinator
Position Summary:
DARCARS Automotive Group endeavors to secure a highly engaged, detail-oriented, and self-sufficient Coordinator, Tag & Title to ensure the timely and accurate processing of vehicle titles through a solid understanding of industry best practices and in compliance with relevant laws and company policy.
In this role, you'll:
- Interact with customers and store, regulatory agency, and bank personnel to resolve title issues
- Manage customer inquiries and requests
- Work with Sales & Finance Managers/Directors on title-related matters
Administration
- Prepare tax and title documents
- Confirm negotiability of title documents and report discrepancies
- Review incoming titles for accuracy with lien holder, VIN, odometer reading, etc; confirm releases of liens
- Verify funds have been collected and correct lienholder paid off before processing
- Prepare legal transfer documents for the MVA; verify and enter any fees assigned to a vehicle
- Bill out dealer trades and prepare Certificate of Origin
- Maintain an accurate temporary and out of state tag log Monthly U/C title reconciliation
- Conduct physical inventory reconciliation (Month End) Monthly U/C title reconciliation
- Maintain assigned schedules (MVA and Out of State)
- Calculate and issue MVA refund checks
- Reassign titles to the appropriate dealership
- Responsible for MVA bundle reconciliations and customer refund checks in accordance with the general ledger
- Maintain list of all outstanding title work
Compliance
- Submits all legal transfer work to MVA, both electronically and physical documents
- Register vehicles within the 30-day time frame allotted from MVA
- Verify acceptance of title in state for which it is filed
- Maintain inventory of unissued state-owned license plates
- Maintain current knowledge of MVA regulations regarding vehicle titles for each state in which vehicles are processed
- Understands and follows corresponding state title processing guidelines
For this role, you'll need:
- You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in tag and title work
- You are computer savvy with a full working knowledge of Reynolds and Reynolds and the current ETR system
- You have demonstrated a commitment to process improvement, innovation, and excellence
- You have an interest in and willingness to participate in the company’s volunteer community service projects
- You are persistent and have a sense of humor
- You are hungry, humble and smart
