About the role
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our dynamic and growing animation studio as a Talent & Culture Associate. In this role, you will be pivotal in managing HR tasks across multiple Steamroller entities, including (but not limited to) contract extensions, compensation adjustments, and organizational changes. As a key facilitator of the onboarding process, you will make a lasting first impression on our new hires, showcasing our artist-focused culture. To excel in this role, you must be highly organized and adept at managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Collaboration with various departments across the organization will require a positive and productive work ethic. This is a full-time hybrid role, with in-office presence required from Monday to Wednesday.
Responsibilities
- Properly execute all Talent and Culture-related administrative tasks across multiple Steamroller entities. This includes managing contract extensions, processing compensation adjustments, and implementing organizational changes.
- Assist successful candidates as needed with the onboarding process, including preparing documents and coordinating orientation agendas.
- Assist as needed with the facilitation of new hire orientations.
- Complete I-9s, verifying documents, and completing E-verify.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure that all documentation is up to date.
- Maintain compliance for multiple entities with federal, state/providence, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and celebrations.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and staff members relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Act as a liaison between the studio and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
- Administer the visa process for candidates/staff members who are interested in relocating to Florida.
- Work closely with Talent & Culture Representatives to coordinate department meetings and agendas.
- Make suggestions on how we can build additional functionality into our internal staff database to ensure we"re using the tool at its highest level.
- Mangage the benefits administration process for all entities.
- Work closely with recruitment to assist with recruitment duties and handling any relevant paperwork.
- Coordinate the administration of FMLA and short-term disability paperwork.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Contribute to team efforts and perform additional tasks to support the departmentgoals as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in Human Resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information systems (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Possess a working knowledge of employee benefits administration, including the management of health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits programs.
- Advanced knowledge of federal and multi-state/providence employment law.
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
