Tank Sterilization Technician

Schedule: 2:00PM-10:30PM M-F
Pay: 20/hr
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. This position involves washing and sterilizing tanks utilizing high and low pressure water systems and high temperature steam. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment, performing production procedures in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate must be self-directed, often working independently, and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sterilize tanks using high and low pressure water systems and high temperature steam.
- Operate production equipment, including start-up, minor adjustments, and quality monitoring.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation.
- Clean and sanitize work areas in accordance with SOP.
- Interpret low-level data using SCADA trending system and print trending reports.
The job environment is often wet due to the nature of tank washing, requiring a safety-oriented approach when working with live steam, cleaning chemicals, and pressurized tanks. PPE is required, and the candidate must be able to function while wearing PPE. Basic mechanical skills and the use of hand tools are necessary for this role.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; BS in Biology or related Science strongly preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Analytical, scientific, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Strict attention to detail and safety.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds on an intermittent basis.
- Comprehensive understanding of aseptic processes, Good Documentation Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Basic awareness of quality improvement tools and MPS processes.
- Understanding and awareness of USDA regulations.
Dress and Conduct Requirements
The work is performed in a clean and controlled environment with specific gowning requirements:
- All personnel will wear safety glasses, head/hair covers, facial hair covers (if necessary), company-furnished uniform, and safety shoes.
- No watches, fitness trackers, bracelets, earrings, rings, or jewelry of any kind.
- No personal cell phones.
- No makeup, nail polish, applied eyelashes, or acrylic nails.
- No food, beverages, candy, or gum in the production area.
- No smoking or use of smokeless tobacco or similar products at the De Soto facility.
