Tax Accountant - Robert Half

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Tax Accountant in Seattle, Washington. This is a hybrid position and will require 1-3 days onsite in the Seattle office. This position will be responsible multi-state tax compliance and various supporting tasks related to international sales tax. This individual will be a crucial part of the team and will play a critical role in ensuring that the company is operating in compliance with local and national sales tax laws and regulations. Responsibilities: + Work in collaboration with an outside service provider, to handle the collection, compiling, filing, and payment of our sales taxes. + Review and confirm accuracy of sales tax data records. + Recognize and address discrepancies or issues in sales tax collection. + Analyze financial data to determine tax obligation to calculate, file and reconcile international taxes. + Handle month-end tax reporting and full-cycle accounting tasks when needed, and perform overall general ledger (GL) experience. Requirements Qualifications: + Proven experience in state tax compliance and sales tax handling. + Familiarity with international sales tax + Prior experience with Avalara or similar tax software. + Strong ability to identify errors in tax reports and statements. + Proficient in general ledger accounting and month-end/full-cycle accounting processes. + Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
