Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant / Senior Tax Accountant (CPA) to join our team in Palmetto Bay, Florida. This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns, conducting tax research, advising clients on tax planning strategies, and representing clients during audits and before tax authorities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of complex tax issues and regulations, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality, personalized service to clients, including high-net-worth individuals and businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns.
- Research and analyze complex tax issues to identify potential tax savings and compliance opportunities.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Respond to IRS and state tax authority notices and inquiries.
- Assist with tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities.
- Mentor and train junior staff members.
Primary Skills:
- CPA certification required
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Proficiency in tax software such as GoSystem Tax RS and CCH Axcess
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with forensic accounting or litigation support is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting
