Tax Analyst - CDK

About the Job
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Compliance - The role is to prepare sales and use tax returns for both the US and Canada. Gathering reports from multiple systems and multiple areas of the company, having the ability to validate, Analyze, prepare returns, and remit payments before the filing deadlines.
• Resale/Exemption certificates - Being able to prepare, request and properly maintain documentation for exempting customers.
• Self-Assessment Process - Tax Accountant will be responsible for pulling the detailed purchases report and assisting the Senior Tax Manager in maintaining the self-assessment process and ensuring that self-assessed tax or consumers use tax flows through the return remittance process.
• Reconciliations - Individual in this role must be familiar with performing reconciliations of sales tax and property tax accounts. Verify the accuracy of the general ledger indirect tax accrual accounts and be able to assist Tax Accountant in documenting and validating reconciled items.
• Research - Ability to research various tax issues and being able to communicate results.
• Tax Technology - familiarize and gain an understanding of the various tax software's being used and being able to update and access the tax matrices and reporting within each.
• Sox Controls - Tax Accountant will be responsible for gaining an understanding and assisting Senior Tax Manager in maintaining sox controls. This consist of gathering information from the system and validating tax collected vs remitted, as well as tax rates and matrices are all up to date. Also, including all other pertinent information within the systems are up to date and being calculated correctly.
• Licensing - Tax Accountant will be responsible for gaining understanding of the license process. Tax Account will prepare, pay and file licenses while maintaining and up to date cale
