Responsibilities:Typical Day in the Life
A typical day as a Tax Associate - Exempt Organization might include the following:
- Prepare/review annual information returns for exempt organization clients including Form 990, Form 990-T and Form 990-PF (and related state returns).
- Work with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are completed, including tax planning, client interaction and performing special tax projects.
- Gather relevant tax-related information from the client to prepare accurate tax returns.
- Participate in audit planning meetings, client interviews and client board meetings
- Assist with analysis of alternative investments for foreign and state reporting issues and assist with state and foreign returns.
- Perform special tax projects and research for clients while assisting members of the National Tax Office.
- Communicate with clients, audit teams and other tax professionals.
- Manage numerous client expectations to ensure tax returns are completed correctly and by the required deadline.
- Maintain compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.
- Help develop and manage client relationships
- Participate in professional association meetings and forums
- Attend training seminars, professional development and networking events.
Who You Are
- The word "tax" is not foreign to you, and you can easily explain details of your tax experience and/or can explain the difference between a 1040 and an 1120.
- You live and breathe public accounting. It is your true life's passion, although certainly NOT your only interest!
- You enjoy keeping up-to-date on the ever-changing tax industry's regulations and policies.
- You have a knack for solving problems and easily notice issues while bringing solutions to the table.
- You take pride in helping others.
- In addition to all of this, you have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, valid CPA license or working towards obtaining CPA license preferred; Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted, and 1-3 years of experience in public accounting tax work.
Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Compensation
$69,000 - $80,000. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
