ABOUT THE POSITION:
As a Tax Director/Partner specializing in Technology, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic tax planning and consulting services to our clients within the technology industry. You will lead a team of tax professionals, providing expertise in navigating complex tax regulations, optimizing tax structures, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This position requires a deep understanding of industry-specific tax issues, strong leadership skills, and the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement tax strategies tailored to the unique needs and goals of technology clients. Provide proactive advice on tax implications related to business operations, transactions, and expansions.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory filings. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. Understand clients' businesses and industry trends to anticipate their needs and provide value-added services.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional growth and development. Delegate tasks effectively to leverage team strengths and optimize efficiency.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and industry trends affecting technology companies. Apply deep technical knowledge to address complex tax issues and provide innovative solutions to clients.
- Identify opportunities to expand our client base and grow revenue within the technology sector. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance the firm's market presence and competitiveness.
- Assess potential tax risks and exposures for clients and develop risk mitigation strategies while ensuring that tax planning initiatives comply with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on technology companies.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations, particularly as they apply to technology companies.
- Experience leading and managing a team of tax professionals, including providing coaching and feedback.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and develop innovative tax planning strategies.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office suite.
Compensation:
- Competitive annual salary in the range of $220,000 to $500,000+, based on individual's experience level.
