About the Job
Vaco has partnered with a Seattle- based client and they are looking to add a Tax Director to join their team.
Location: Seattle, WA- (in-office/ hybrid)
Salary: $170-190K + quarterly bonus
Job Summary: The Tax Director will manage the tax department, overseeing a Senior Manager and Senior Tax Accountant
Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings for the business, affiliated companies, and owners (including trusts), as well as tax planning and support for business changes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tax planning for new business activities
Complete federal and state income tax returns, including analysis and support
Prepare sales, use, excise, and property tax returns in-house
Manage audits for federal, state, and local tax filings
Respond to tax correspondence and research tax issues
Calculate monthly tax reserves and prepare the annual tax provision for financial reporting
Oversee cost segregation studies and ensure proper internal controls over tax accounting
Lead and develop tax team members
Support ongoing estate planning efforts
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred)
7+ years of relevant experience (Pro System tax software experience a plus)
3+ years of management experience
Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills

the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
licensure and certification requirements;
office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure
The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
