From hybrid schedules and flexible time off to training programs and mental wellness initiatives, we take care of our team.If you want to be in an environment where you can grow, feed your curiosity and make a difference, Wipfli is the place for you.Responsibilities: As a Tax Manager within the Financial Services industry group, you will provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the banking and financial services industriesYou will work directly with the client, manage the tax engagement team, have access to an elite group of specialists when needed, and be connected to a proven support system from firm leadership to ensure you are set up for success in your role and careerDeveloping and maintaining dedicated client relationships on various federal and state tax consulting/compliance engagements
Tax manager is responsible for clients receiving proactive communication and timely serviceAdvising clients on a variety of tax issues including accounting for income taxes, tax provisions, tax compliance, and assist with audits/notices by federal and state taxing authoritiesPerform detailed reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations completed by other associatesProvide training, direction, and supervision to staff and senior accountantsOverseeing consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliatesMaintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to financial institutions to provide services and solutions relevant to our client’s businessParticipate and provide leadership for firm initiatives and projectsOur spectrum of business tax services is relevant for public and private companies and range from tax planning to tax compliance, controversy and risk management, government incentives, and tax management consultingKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveA bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fieldOne of the following accreditations obtained:Licensed CPA or licensed attorney5 years minimum corporate tax experienceProven managerial experience with budgets, people and projectsDemonstrated effective verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter and demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple, competing prioritiesAmanda Feltner, from our recruiting team, will be guiding you through this process
