Are you a seasoned Tax professional looking for a rewarding new challenge? Our company, a leading player in the finance industry, is seeking a Permanent Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to take the reins of our tax department and drive the strategic direction of our tax planning and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public accounting, tax planning, and preparation, and be well-versed in handling tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.
Responsibilities:
As our Permanent Tax Manager, you will be tasked with the following:
1. Oversee and manage our tax planning, preparation, and compliance efforts across multiple states.
2. Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.
3. Leverage your expertise in QuickBooks to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
4. Identify and capitalize on opportunities for tax credits and other incentives to optimize our tax strategy.
5. Provide strategic business planning advice to senior management, incorporating tax considerations.
6. Conduct in-depth tax research to stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure our compliance.
7. Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
8. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment of tax strategies with broader business objectives.
9. Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting role, you should have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or similar role, preferably within the finance industry.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA designation would be a strong asset.
3. Proven experience in public accounting, tax planning, and preparation.
4. Extensive experience preparing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.
5. Solid knowledge of multi-state tax laws and regulations.
6. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial software.
7. A track record of successfully identifying and securing tax credits and other incentives.
8. Strong research skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in clear, understandable terms.
10. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
