We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager with experience focusing on property tax. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your tax review, property tax, and budgeting skills in a fast-paced and exciting environment. You will be responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and driving strategic tax planning initiatives. This position requires a highly analytical thinker with a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, and the ability to identify and implement tax-saving opportunities.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all tax-related activities, including tax planning, compliance, and audit defense.
2. Conduct thorough property tax compliance and property valuation and assessment reviews.
3. Prepare and review tax returns and related documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.
4. Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives designed to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits.
5. Conduct detailed tax research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations.
6. Prepare and manage the tax budget and forecast, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
7. Utilize accounting software and property tax management tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
8. Provide guidance and support to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
10. Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager role within the Accounting + Finance industry.
3. Extensive experience with tax review, property tax, budgeting, and forecasting.
4. Proficiency with accounting software and property tax management tools.
5. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
7. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
