Our firm is actively seeking a full-time Tax Manager to take charge of our clients' tax services. This pivotal role demands outstanding interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with personnel at all levels, clients, and firm contacts. Responsibilities:
- Onboard new client relationships
- Supervise tax engagements and client relationships
- Interact with clients to discuss tax issues and new tax service opportunities
- Assess clients' financial records for obvious errors, trends, and potential issues affecting tax liability
- Assess financial and tax reporting differences
- Supervise tax staff and seniors, including providing constructive performance feedback as necessary
Requirements:
- At least 8-12 years' experience with federal and state income tax preparation and review, including working with a variety of federal and multi-state tax returns for small to medium size businesses and their owners
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or tax
- Active CPA license and eligible to practice in Colorado
- Completion of Culture Index survey, linked above. Candidates that do not complete a survey will not be considered
- Experience with management or supervision of tax accounting teams
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and Online, general office software and systems, Adobe Acrobat, CCH Axcess, Bloomberg tax research software
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills -- specifically Excel and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to enable effective interaction with all levels of personnel
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with the concept of time capture and client billing
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Displaying appropriate ethical knowledge through extraordinary confidentiality, integrity and professional presentation and conduct
- Ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently
- An attitude of continuous improvement
- Ability to build book of business through networking and referrals
Work Environment Overview
Casual but professional office environment, work/life integration, client contact, award winning culture. "Colorado Casual" dress code.
The position is full time M-F.
Annual base compensation: $105k-$135k with semi-annual performance bonuses.
