ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Tax Manager specializing in Not-for-Profit at Anchin will be responsible for overseeing and managing tax compliance, consulting, and planning services for not-for-profit organizations. This role will involve working closely with clients, leading a team of tax professionals, and ensuring that not-for-profit entities comply with applicable tax regulations while optimizing their tax positions. This role will also be providing guidance on tax-related matters, developing and maintaining client relationships, and staying updated on relevant tax laws affecting not-for-profit organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for not-for-profit clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and meetings.
- Understand clients' business operations, goals, and challenges to provide tailored tax advice.
- Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings for not-for-profit clients.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations affecting not-for-profit organizations.
- Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to not-for-profit clients.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
- Advise clients on the tax implications of various transactions and activities.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.
- Provide guidance and training to team members, fostering their professional development.
- Manage workloads, deadlines, and project timelines to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Analyze financial data to assess the tax implications for not-for-profit clients.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant financial information.
- Identify and mitigate tax-related risks for not-for-profit clients.
- Implement best practices to ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting.
- Effectively communicate complex tax concepts to clients and team members.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as audit and advisory, to provide comprehensive client solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, tax regulations, and best practices.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of tax services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA highly preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and consulting for not-for-profit organizations.
- Private foundation knowledge is a must.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws applicable to not-for-profits.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation:
- Competitive annual salary in the range of $140,000 to $180,000 based on individual's experience level.
