ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Manager or a Senior Manager with a focus on the Research & Development (R&D) industry to join our dynamic tax team . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing R&D tax credit engagements and will play a critical role in driving the success of our clients by identifying, quantifying, and documenting R&D tax credit opportunities. This role will also ensure the supervision and development of a tax team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage R&D tax credit projects from inception to completion.
Identify and evaluate potential R&D tax credit opportunities for clients.
Meet with clients to gather and document necessary information.
Prepare and review comprehensive R&D tax credit studies and documentation.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication to ensure understanding and compliance with R&D tax credit regulations.
Provide clients with strategic tax planning and consulting services.
Stay current with changes in federal and state R&D tax credit regulations and guidelines.
Assist clients in defending R&D tax credit claims during audits by tax authorities.
Supervise and mentor tax team members, guiding on technical matters and career development, while fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in R&D tax credit engagements.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA required.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on research & development industry.
Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
Consistent business development experience.
Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
Compensation:
Competitive annual salary in the range of $140,000 to $180,000, based on individual’s experience level.
