Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Tax Manager for our CPA firm. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise, enhance your career, and make a significant impact on our company's financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing effective tax strategies, ensuring compliance with tax laws, managing tax reporting, and maintaining an updated knowledge of tax regulations and standards in the accounting and finance industry. You will also be expected to provide guidance on tax implications of company business activities and decisions.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
2. Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
3. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team.
4. Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
5. Manage all tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities and ensure that all tax affairs comply with laws and regulations.
6. Lead and coordinate ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives.
7. Liaise with tax consultants and auditors to manage tax audits and queries.
8. Maintain and update the company's tax structure as needed, including preparation of tax reports and ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Taxation is a plus.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tax Manager
4. Strong understanding of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
5. Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
6. Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
7. Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
10. Good knowledge and understanding of tax accounting.
11. Proficiency with tax software and databases.
12. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
13. Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
14. Demonstrable strategic planning skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources.
15. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
