Our firm's Tax practice seeks an experienced and accomplished Tax professional with strong technical skills, leadership capabilities, and experience supporting clients in the Financial Services market space, to join our Financial Services Tax team as a Tax Senior. In this role you will provide sophisticated tax compliance and tax consulting services to valued clients in the banking, investments, asset management and capital markets space. You will assist in the professional development of other tax staff and participate in client proposals and new business development opportunities.
This is a national practice. The preferred location for the position is our New York area offices. However, the position can take place in any of our Mazars offices with a U.S. location. Our firm also offers flexible work hours and location: office or hybrid.
What You Will Do:
- Provide tax compliance and advisory services to partnerships, corporations and S-corporations for a variety of clients in the banking, investments, asset management and capital markets industries
- Lead the execution of assigned client engagements including budget, review of tax returns completed by other tax staff, calculations of estimated payments and tax extension filings
- Supervise and review the work of other tax staff on large and complex tax engagements
- Keep firm tax managers and partners informed on the progress of the engagement as well as any important issues discovered that need resolution
- Research tax issues and findings that may impact clients' federal, state and local tax planning projects
- Conduct online tax research using tools such Bloomberg Tax and tax preparation using CCH Axcess and other applicable tax software programs
- Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS, state and local authorities and represent clients at any potential tax audits
- Advise clients on critical issues that impact their financial portfolio and provide solutions and quality tax service to the clients' satisfaction
- Develop and sustain good working relationships with clients
- Participate in client proposal opportunities when required
What We Seek:
- Years of experience required: 3+ years relevant tax experienceworking in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice or a large corporate tax department
- Education required: Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a business-related field, an advanced tax degree (MST, JD, LLM) is a plus
- Certification required/preferred: CPA license or pursuing completion of the CPA exam
- Prior work experience with banks, investments and capital markets
- An understanding of corporate, partnership and individual taxation
- Demonstrated aptitude in problem solving and decision making
- Demonstrated success in completing client engagements with satisfaction and within budget
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and other tax preparation and research software programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to travel to client locations when needed
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

- The salary range for this role takes into account many factors including, but not limited to, years and type of experience, skill sets, and certifications. The projected salary range for this position is $76,000 - $174,000.
