Position Summary:
The Tax Supervisor will oversee and manage the tax compliance and planning activities for the firm’s clients. This role involves supervising a team of tax professionals, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tax returns, and providing strategic tax advice. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and planning to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and to identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Provide strategic tax advisory services to clients, addressing complex tax issues and developing tax strategies.
- Manage and mentor a team of tax associates, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain and enhance client relationships through effective communication and delivery of high-quality tax services.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and timely filing of all required tax documents.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on clients and advising accordingly.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business development initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (preferably CCH) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
