What you get to do in this role:
- Create and maintain classification rules and configuration profiles in Progress Semaphore to categorize large bodies of content using existing taxonomies.
- Tune Semaphore’s classification engine to meet performance and accuracy targets.
- Identify and facilitate model enrichment opportunities to improve classification precision.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand classification requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
- Analyze classification results and provide insights to refine taxonomies and improve overall content organization.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of SPARQL and RDF formats to effectively manage and manipulate semantic data.
Managers Note:
- Does this position have the opportunity to extend beyond the initial contract or convert to FTE? Tentatively, no. This may change though.

- Does this position require to sit onsite or travel to an SN office? No, it is not required for this person to be onsite or travel to an office.
- Does this person have to work in a specific time zone? (e.g. – If a person on the East Coast can work PST, is that ok?) No time zone requirement. As long as they can work PST hours, that will work.
In order to qualify for and be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proficiency in creating and tuning classification rules within Progress Semaphore
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities for model enrichment
- Advanced knowledge of SPARQL and RDF formats
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills to maintain consistent and accurate classification
- 5 years of experience in classification and taxonomy management, preferably in a digital content environment.
- Experience with semantic data formats and technologies, including SPARQL and RDF.
- Proven track record of successfully tuning classification engines and meeting classification precision targets.
