This is a 0.2 FTE non-continuing contract Activities Coordinator position at Olympic View Middle School.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid Washington state teaching certificate with endorsement to teach at the middle school level. Experience running activities at a middle school.
JOB TITLE: MIDDLE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY: The coordinator manages the activity programs for students at the building level.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement and comply with District policies and the Code of Professional Conduct.
- Arrange and coordinate quarterly parent meetings.
- Communicate with students & families regarding academic probation and other issues. Facilitate acquisition and distribution of appropriate awards/recognition, plaques, certificates, etc.
- Participate in the oversight and/or organization of all school assemblies, dances and special events.
- Participate in extra-curricular student program planning as assigned by the principal
- Organizes and supervises the school activity program; e.g. student council, clubs, parties, assemblies, etc.
- Assists with the organization and supervision of lunch-time activities.
- Supports the organization & coordination of student fundraisers, toy drives, food drives, etc.
- Schedule all building facility and field use by various school groups and community organizations
- Organizes end-of-school activities & assemblies.
- Perform other such duties as assigned by the district director or principal
JOB REQUIREMENTS; MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
- Valid Washington State teaching certification
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience as an activities coordinator
- Student cultural and economic diversity experience
