What does a Teacher's Aid Apprentice Opportunity with Columbia College do?
As a Teacher's Aid Apprentice at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting the education and development of young children. Under the guidance of the Site Supervisor or Teacher, you will collaborate with a team of educators in an infant/toddler or preschool setting. Your responsibilities will involve implementing curriculum, providing individualized attention to children, and gaining valuable skills in classroom management. This position is designed for individuals currently enrolled in ECE coursework and approved through Columbia College for the ECE Apprenticeship Program.
By working in the classroom and earning Early Childhood Education units simultaneously, you will progress towards becoming a fully qualified Associate Teacher upon completion of the Apprentice program. Join us in shaping the future of our little learners today!
What we're looking for in a Teacher's Aid Apprentice Opportunity with Columbia College
To excel as a Teacher's Aid Apprentice at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, Inc., you will need a strong foundation in early childhood education and a commitment to ongoing learning and development. Essential skills for success in this position include the ability to effectively implement positive redirection and basic classroom management techniques. You should demonstrate proficiency in recognizing and implementing Active Supervision Strategies while working with young children.
Additionally, you will be expected to progress towards obtaining a Teacher level Child Development Permit and gain a thorough understanding of the differences between Infant/Toddler Care and Preschool settings. Familiarity with basic regulations outlined by Community Care Licensing, Performance Standards, and State and Local regulations is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of the children under your care.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Current enrollment in ECE course work and approved through Columbia College for the ECE Apprenticeship Program. Special Requirements:
- Current Health Screening
- proof of current negative TB test
- immunizations required by Community Care Licensing (pertussis/measles) and current influenza shot.
- Valid California Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurance coverage
- Have the ability to utilize positive redirection and basic classroom management skills
- Recognize and implement Active Supervision Strategies
- Progress in obtaining Teacher level Child Development Permit
- Obtain the ability to understand the differences and similarities of Infant/Toddler Care and Preschool
- Understanding basic regulations set forth by Community Care Licensing
- Performance Standards
- State and Local regulations
