The YMCA of Northern Colorado is looking for a Teacher Aide with a passion for guiding children through fun, enriching activities. Strong customer service skills and a positive work attitude are a must, as you will be a role model for little ones. Help build an environment where children can sing songs, explore the world with nature walks, and learn about arts and humanities. We also offer extensive training and learning opportunities to allow teachers to advance in their early childhood career.
Salary is based on experience and availability plus a 10% salary bonus for staff who are bilingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities:- Under the direct supervision of the Director, ECT or AECT, supervises children in both small and large group program activities.
- Supports with the implementation of curriculum within the established guidelines.
- Support in the development of activities and implements daily lesson/activity plan
- Ensures program is consistently following all YMCA, Colorado Department of Health and Human services and Health department expectations.
- Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents and staff. Engages parents in program activities and events. Models relationship-building skills, including Listen First in all interactions.
- Maintains confidentiality of YMCA issues, incidents and records
- Be on time for all shifts; be flexible to accommodate unexpected schedule changes, including full days.
- Maintains program site and equipment.
- Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum age requirement of 16 years old.
- Minimum 6 months experience working with Preschool aged/Kindergarten aged children
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Ability to work with a wide range of age groups, demographics and have ability to collaborate well with a number of groups and individuals
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
