What is this job?
This position would be an on-call/part-time position. You will communicate to us your work availability (days and hours you are available to work and we would call you into the shift at least two hours prior to the start time). We are looking to fill a midday shift 12 pm – 5:45 pm daily. You must have a valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed in infants and toddlers.
Do I get a sign-on bonus?
Yes! BCC is offering you a $1,000 sign-on bonus if you can provide full-time (40 hours/week) availability.

Board of Child Care (BCC) is not a federal or state agency. It is an independent not-for-profit organization that serves over 1,000 children annually across 12 locations. You would join about 800 teammates across DC, MD, PA, and WV that empower youth and their families to flourish within their community.
What does this job do specifically?
Essential Responsibilities, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the center's philosophies following childcare regulations and national standards.
- Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning
- Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior.
- Build good, open communication with children, families, and staff.
- Observe and record children's growth, development, and behavior using electronic portfolios.
- Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic, and safe.
- Help develop teaching goals for the center and its teachers.'
- Undertake administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Teaching qualifications, preferred.
- Child Development Associates or CDA is required.
- Experience working in a childcare setting.
- Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy.
- First Aid and CPR Certification. (BCC will provide course during new hire orientation)
- A good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Proof of COVID vaccines
