*Masters Stipend for Education related fields - $1,000

Primary Purpose:

Provide students with native language instruction in the core academic subject areas assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society while acquiring a second language.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

Bachelor's degree from accredited University

Valid Texas bilingual teaching certificate or valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for bilingual education; required training for subject and level assigned

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledgeof the developmental needs of children assigned to teach

Knowledgeof core academic subject assigned

Generalknowledge of curriculum and instruction

Abilityto instruct students and manage their behavior

Strongorganizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish and English or the native language of the bilingual students and English

Knowledge of and background in the implementation of dual language programs

Experience

At least one year student teaching or approved internship
