- Properly certified in all areas of assignment;
- Demonstrate cooperativeness and willingness to carry-out assigned tasks and performance responsibilities;
- Bilingual endorsement, if highly preferable.

GENERAL SUPERVISOR: Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To develop in each pupil an appreciation of the art of music as part of general culture; to teach techniques of vocal or instrumental music expression; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the field of music, to develop knowledge and skills in listening to and reading music.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach skills in music appreciation, harmony, and explorations in music and in instrumental music and choral music to elementary students
- Instruct pupils in citizenship, expected student behavior, and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Plan a balanced music program and organize daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished with the allotted time.
- Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during practice, group rehearsals and musical performances.
- Evaluate each pupil’s musical growth and performance, assessing each individual’s contribution to the performance of the group.
- Plan, rehearses, and directs pupils in musical programs for school and community.
- Select and requisitions books, musical instruments, instructional aids and maintain required inventory records.
- Cooperate with the school administration in providing musical programs for school productions and civic functions.
- Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
- Participate in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities to include; in and out of school activities.
- Maintain professional competencies through in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Participate cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.
- Perform other assigned tasks required by the supervisor(s).
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
Term of employment is to be established on an annual basis, through the adoption of the school calendar.
SALARY:
Salary to be established on an annual basis, through the adoption of the salary schedules.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel.
