Duties:
- Assist the teacher in implementing the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student, ensuring all educational goals are met.
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, helping them develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Use classroom management techniques to maintain a productive and respectful classroom environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior management.
- Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of student learning plans.
- Provide educational support and accommodations as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communication with parents.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students, particularly those with autism or other special needs.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Ability to educate and support students in a classroom setting.
- Experience working with children of varying ages and abilities.
- Proven experience in classroom management and behavior management.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers and other support staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for supporting students with special needs and a desire to make a positive impact on their education.
