TEAM LEAD A

JOB DUTIES:
Team Lead A performs general labor of routine difficulty in the manufacture of prestress/precast concrete products while leading and directing a team of employees to meet daily and weekly goals. Essential duties include: leading and training a team of employees in fabrication and production functions for Railroad, Nebraska and Iowa Bridge Beams, and commercial products; communicating with team in English and Spanish (50% of workforce only speaks Spanish); reviewing daily and weekly pour schedules to determine manpower needed; reading shop tickets, which reflect the piece design, dimensionally, structurally, and aesthetically, and transferring this information to assigned personnel based on their skills and abilities to assure completed product meets job specifications; performing all the same tasks and duties that are required of each team member including tying rebar, marking pieces, pouring concrete into forms, finishing concrete with hand trowels, and operating mobile equipment such as forklifts and frontend loaders; maintaining the required productivity levels for each task completed, including but not limited to labor, Safety and Quality during the fabrication process by controlling workflow and planning; contributing to successful teamwork by collaborating with crew members, providing guidance, training, support for timelines and processes and tools producing a quality product, including quality evaluations, which meet the customer expectations while ensuring that drawings and job specifications are followed; operating production-related machines and equipment safely with required Coreslab training and licensing; taking responsibility for the security and daily inspection of company equipment and hand tools notifying appropriate personnel for needed repairs; communicating daily and weekly individual and team performance to supervisor; maintaining order and housekeeping and ensuring all team members understand the importance of a clean, safe workspace; and performing all Occupational Safety and Hazard procedures in conjunction with all essential duties, which includes but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment requirements, safety storing chemicals, and keeping exits free from materials and storage items.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 24 months’ experience performing as a General Laborer to produce prestress/precast concrete products.
- Must be able to communicate in English and Spanish.
- Proficient in: Leading and mentoring a crew; equipment, machines, and tools used in the manufacturing of prestress/precast concrete; basic math including working with fractions, multiplication, addition, and subtraction; use of a tape measure or other measuring devices to ensure correct specifications; and reading, understanding, and implementing drawings to specifications.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist; talk and hear, see and focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move heavy objects, up to and exceeding 50 pounds.
- Overtime: Must be able to work overtime on short notice, which could exceed 8 hours per shift and/or 40 hours per work week.
