Position Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Team Lead/Controller to oversee and manage the accounting functions across our client base within the My Valuable Business, LLC (MVB) family. This role requires expertise in GAAP, accrual accounting principles, and proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Payroll. The ideal candidate is a professional, self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. With a minimum of 5 years of supervisory accounting experience, this position is ideal for someone who can manage tasks accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the accounting team for client accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.
- Provide financial reports to clients and the MVB client team, maintaining high levels of transparency and accuracy.
- Participate in the onboarding and disengagement processes for clients, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Review and process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Supervise, manage, and process payroll functions across client accounts.
- Ensure quality control of financial databases, reports, work products, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Conduct reviews of financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage, supervise, and monitor the workflow of the accounting team to meet client and organizational goals.
- Provide coaching, training, and problem-solving assistance to the accounting team on financial data sets, client-specific issues, and preventative measures.
- Lead regular team meetings, develop client-specific training materials, and resolve any ongoing concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in the private sector, with supervisory responsibilities (Financial Review/Audit and general accounting experience required).
- Proven management or project lead experience in a financial setting.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is preferred.
- Strong payroll experience, managing and processing payroll for multiple clients a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership, customer service, and supervisory skills.
- High attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and organization.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skillset in Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
