Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for coordination with other work cells within production to meet production requirements of the company and needs of the customers with accountability for quality, quantity, methods, and safety including coordinating assembling, dispensing, and shipping of equipment for assemblers, test technicians, warehouse associates, and other related production positions.
Essential Job Functions and Basic Duties
- As a hands-on leader, the team leader monitors and assists in completing production and assembly as needed.
- Oversees and directs a production team of the scheduled shift.
- Communicate effectively with management and employees to meet customers’ needs or demands.
- Assist in the training of new employees.
- Ensures safety and quality policies and procedures are followed.
- Ensures production meets the company’s targeted goals.
- Schedules employees for the assigned shift and conducts safety or other related training programs for employees and/or temporary employees.
- Monitors productivity and assembling of equipment and the employees' work to suggest improvements in the production process.
- Update and maintains production reports for tracking, and keeps production and operations manager aware of the production area's performance, as needed/or required.
- Understands and supports the foundational operations disciplines of safety, 5S, lean manufacturing and standard work.
- Maintains all work-related equipment, passive load, test fixtures, etc. (Test Lead only).
- Assists in maintaining and writing work procedures and all related documentation for each task performed.
- Works with supervisor to set work schedule based on approximate customer delivery dates.
- Other duties as assigned.
