SUMMARY: Responsible for managing, leading and directing Team Members performing cleaning service at customer location as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes, but not limited to, the following:
- Interviews, hires and trains employees.
- Plans, assigns and directs work.
- Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Coordinates and leads janitorial Team Members in the execution of safety, quality, customer satisfaction, training and team work.
- Able to work through and with counterparts in maintaining daily shift communication on all issues, changes and needs.
- Regularly conducts daily evaluations of quality of cleaning being provided to the customer.
- Able to maintain a safe, clean and productive work environment.
- Complete daily administrative functions.
- Perform or exhibit effective leadership and conflict resolution.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and detailed oriented.
- Ability to train Team Members in standardized work practices.
- Knowledge, and use and operation of, janitorial equipment such as walk-behind scrubbers, buffers and riding scrubbers.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively communicate with the building occupants to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Work with all assigned personnel.
- Understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.
- Support the company’s goals and objectives.
- Work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment.
- Continually develop skills by cooperating with training sessions and/or On the Job Training (OJT).
- Clock in and out as instructed each day with no time corrections.
- Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Other duties assigned.
SUPERVISOR DUTIES: Directly supervises employees in the janitorial department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED). Or equivalency. Team Leader must have good attendance and one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
