Position Summary
The Packaging Team Operator is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to include the packaging operation, placing boxes on skids, labeling, inspection testing and providing the proper paperwork
This position requires rotation through all phases of Team Operator in the Packaging department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate the Form, Fill and Seal machine, hand-held scanner, label maker and tape machine.
Receive, inspect, sort and pack product in a timely and efficient manner.
Visually inspect packing material to ensure appropriate documentation accompanies product.
Clean and inspect FFS machines during changeover to ensure all product has been removed and accurate packing occurs
Perform skid changeover and line clearance activities.
Verify that all paperwork is complete and accurate, including traceability.
Assist with training of new Operators.
Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge & Skills
Good Verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge/use of computers.
Adequate fine motor hand coordination required.
Sound judgment for use in product disposition.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED required.
Less than 1 year of experience; manufacturing background preferred.
Work Environment
Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment
May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy and with moving equipment.
Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists and upper body.
Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
