Unit Endoscopy.GI Lab
# suites 2
Ratios 15-18 Patients per day. Workload spread over 1 Admit RN, 1 Recovery RN, and 1 Procedure RN
Required Certifications BLS, ACLS, Current WA state license. Techs: BLS, WA state CNA certification OR WA Surgical Tech license
Required Duties Admit patients for GI procedures, Phase II recovery from propofol sedation, Documenting RN/Assist with procedures.
Common Cases colonoscopy, EGD's
Experience or 'Must have' skills IV skills, Admit/Discharge. Prior Epic experience. Minimum 2 years Endo/GI lab experience. Must be trained in scope reprocessing/high level disinfection. General endo skills do Banding, EGD, ERCP, Dilations
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Manager on site.
Are there techs or nurse aids in this department Yes
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) None
Shifts & Scheduling 06-1630, 0630-1700, 07-1730, 10 hour shifts, staggered start times.
Weeknight/Call Requirement Limited call
Weekend/Call Requirement Contract dependent
Holiday/Call Requirement Contract dependent
Is there a mandatory call/standby requirement? No- call not required but available for voluntary
What is call response time 60 Minutes
Floating Requirements None
Scrub Color/Dress Code Scrubs are provided
Unit/Department specific orientation Would be oriented to the department, length of orientation dependent on comfort level of traveler.
