1:2 Ratio
Utilize float Techs & PA-C
GI patients, working in outpatient center with low acuity outpatients getting EGD s and colonoscopies. We typically utilize travelers/agency staff in Preop and recovery. We only recover Phase 2 patients (non-intubated patients). We use propofol per anesthesia for most cases, on occasion there is one physician who does conscious sedation (Midazolam and fentanyl).
We are an endoscopy department however any RN that has worked in any periop area where there is preop and recovery has the type of experience for this role. Endoscopy cases are usually just a bit faster, so the pace is a bit quicker than surgery.
**CANCELLATION POLICY: 1 SHIFT PER 2 WEEK PERIOD
**Based on their Union Contract; travel/agency staff is required to be the first canceled if there is low census**
