Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Accounting: Research and implement new accounting standards; provide guidance on complex transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure compliance and accuracy in financial statements and disclosures.
- Policy Development: Create and maintain accounting policies to align with regulatory standards.
- Advisory Role: Advise finance teams and departments on technical matters, providing training as needed.
- Internal Controls: Strengthen internal controls and collaborate with auditors to maintain compliance.
- Stakeholder Communication: Prepare technical memos and explain accounting matters to management and auditors.
- Process Improvement: Stay current with accounting trends and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required (advanced degree preferred).
- Experience: 7-10 years in technical accounting, ideally with Big 4 and industry experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and complex issues (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation).
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret standards and solve complex accounting problems.
- Communication Skills: Proven ability to translate technical information for non-experts.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite), and financial reporting tools.
