Job Description: We are seeking a Technical Architect with a strong focus on Front Office / FX / Trading to work within a team to complete a comprehensive assessment and remediation project for a financial services firm. The primary objective of this role is to conduct a detailed mapping of the current operating platform across three critical areas: Front Office, Back Office, and Data Integration. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, identifying root causes of operational issues and laying the foundation for a successful remediation process.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead Assessment & Mapping: Conduct a comprehensive mapping of the current operating platform across Front Office, Back Office, and Data Integration, focusing on identifying root causes of issues and setting the foundation for remediation.
· Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with technical and business teams to map current processes and workflows, identifying gaps, risks, and areas for improvement.
· Technical Architecture Leadership: Apply technical expertise in financial services platforms, particularly in FX and trade desks, to understand and document the existing data structures, exchange protocols, and requirements.
· Facilitate Workshops & Interviews: Engage with key stakeholders through interviews and workshops to gather detailed insights into the current state of operations, identifying dependencies between systems and workflows.
· Document Current Operating Model: Work with project team to create comprehensive documentation, including process maps, data flows, system dependencies, and identified gaps.
· Project Planning & Management: Utilize project management skills to ensure a structured and efficient execution of the assessment process, keeping the client informed through regular updates and delivering high-quality service.
· Prepare for Future State Design: Work with the client to use the documented current state as the foundation for designing an optimized future operating model.
· System Integration & Compliance: Coordinate with technology teams to oversee system onboarding and integration, ensuring that internal workflows align with regulatory and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field (or related experience)
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on Front Office systems and trade desk architecture.
· In-depth understanding of FX trading systems, messaging structures, throughput requirements, data structures, and risk/compliance protocols.
· Proven experience in project leadership, particularly in assessing and remediating operational platforms within financial services organizations.
· Strong technical understanding of buy-side and sell-side trading platforms, grid computing, and exchange protocols.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams in a high-pressure environment.
· Proficiency in system architecture tools, data mapping, and process mapping.
· Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach to project management.
· Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
