- High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience of Electrical Maintenance;
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in electronics, electrical technology, controls, and/or automation from an accredited institution
- Minimum five years of industrial manufacturing or military experience.
- Minimum of one years of management, supervisory or team lead experience.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation Allen Bradley PLC & RSLogix software
- Working knowledge and experience troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, combustion and process control systems.

Job responsibilities and duties include:
- Coaching, supervising and training skilled craftspeople and apprentices in the repair and maintenance activities of their assigned shift and areas;
- Key Function is to perform AND teach hourly craftsmen how to execute front line trouble shooting activities on equipment in area of responsibility;
- Directing the safety awareness program for their workforce and manage safe work performance, maintaining housekeeping and assisting the Production team in area safety analysis;
- Follow all safety procedures LOTOTO / PPE / Confined Space / Burning Permits / Fall Protection;
- Drive home new maintenance mentality - create a proactive maintenance environment by driving preventive maintenance and other planned work;
- Set the example for hourly employees - work with them on organization techniques, troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electrical skills;
- Communication - use all the tools that we have to be able to communicate between shifts (verbal, written, voicemail and e-mail);
- Coordinate with Maintenance Shift Supervisor regarding planning the daily activities of their maintenance crews, providing the tools, materials and technical direction for the normal maintenance, preventative maintenance and the capital work in their areas;
- Assist in performing root cause analysis and "5-why" techniques with the goal to eliminate maintenance downtime;
- Coordinate and manage the development of maintenance work procedures and standard practices to maximize quality work and eliminate waste;
- Drive continuous improvement activities to eliminate all waste, especially as related to maintenance downtime, safety, work practices and employee involvement;
- Provide any necessary input to Maintenance shift supervisor regarding applicable labor issues within work area.
Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:
- Knowledge and experience in applying lean manufacturing principles;
- Demonstrated ability to train, develop and motivate subordinates;
- Well-developed communication, leadership and problem-solving skills;
- The principal challenges of this position are training, coaching and motivating hourly crafts personnel to provide reliable equipment consistent with business objectives of OEE, cost, quality and delivery requirements;
- Strict adherence to our safety practices and processes is of top priority for this position and provide leadership to hourly and salary co-workers to achieve the same;
- Due to the sense of urgency which impacts the decision-making process in this position, the incumbent must be able to function with minimal direction while coordinating tasks and priorities with other shift maintenance and production supervision;
- Howmet Aerospace is a 24-hour, 7 days per week operation. As a result, the Technical Specialist will need to be flexible to schedule and shift changes. Howmet will do its best to provide ample notice prior to making any changes.
- Schedules vary. Typical 8.5 hours shifts Monday-Friday as well as alternate schedule with 12-hour shifts in which one alternates between working 3 days consecutively and 2 days consecutively. Both schedules are currently utilized.
- Depending on business conditions, there may be overtime opportunities on weekends.
