Nova Biomedical is looking for a Technical Field Applications Scientist to be based in the Southeast territory of the United States. Territory to include North Carolina, Maryland, Florida and DC. As a Technical Field Applications Specialist, you will provide escalated technical application and product support of biotechnology products to some of the industry’s leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. You will also provide secondary applications support as required.
You will also provide secondary Applications support to the other U.S. and International Sales territories when required as well as advanced technical training as needed for customers in your territory.
More specific responsibilities will include:
- Consults on and responds to product application issues.
- Provides applications support for product integration into small scale development labs, pilot facilities, and GMP manufacturing facilities.
- Facilitates product trending and communicates product issues with Technical Support, R&D and Manufacturing.
- Provides support for investigations and customer follow-up.
- Works closely with R&D to resolve technical performance issues as well as customer specific applications issues.
- Works closely with new customers to streamline validation and automation requirements on BioProfile products and ensures a successful, smooth transition to Nova technology.
- Provides assistance to Sales & Marketing during product sales demonstrations and evaluations.
- As a product trainer, responsibilities include providing industry leading technical training to key operators and users of Nova's product line.
Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will have a BS or MS in Biology or Life Sciences, and a minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience in a biotech/pharma company working in process development and/or a GMP controlled manufacturing or research environment. Experience with mammalian cell culture or bacterial fermentation for biologics development and production is highly desired. Ability to travel up to 75%.
- Candidates with experience in antibody assay development and characterization, validations, process automation, bioreactor and cell culture process development and/or prior experience with Nova BioProfile equipment or other cell culture process monitoring equipment will be given additional consideration.
- Position requires the ability to understand and educate end users on analytical devices and instrument specifications, operation and maintenance, perform data analysis with software programs such as JMP or MatLab and scientific report generation in support of various applications. Strong communication, presentation, training and interpersonal skills are a must. Position is field based primarily within one of six U.S. Applications territories. Ability to travel within the U.S. is required and must be willing to perform occasional international travel.
