About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to play a pivotal role in our dynamic software development environment. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing architecture, interfacing with our EPA technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), overseeing task management for our development team, and driving improvements in our software and infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in software development, a deep understanding of software and infrastructure architecture, and proficiency in Java and Oracle technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Oversight: Review and analyze software architecture to ensure it aligns with industry best practices and security standards. Collaborate with the development team to refine architectural designs for optimal security integration.
- Interface with EPA Technical SME: Act as the primary liaison between our development team and the EPA technical SME, who possesses a strong personality and expertise. Facilitate effective communication and ensure that project objectives are met.
- Task Management: Manage task assignments within the development team, ensuring that projects stay on track and deadlines are met. Prioritize tasks based on project requirements and objectives.
- SDLC Expertise: Leverage your development experience to champion practices within the team that promote quality and consistency. Implement security checks and automation, where possible, throughout the development process to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Infrastructure Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in software and infrastructure, making recommendations to enhance efficiency, scalability, and security.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize your expertise in Java and Oracle technologies to guide the team in developing secure and efficient solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8 years of work-related experience
- Proven experience in software development and understanding of software and infrastructure architecture.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities, including technical SMEs.
- Proficiency in Java, Linux and Oracle technologies.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make data-driven decisions.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
