Descripción general del rol:PIC, a Genus PLC company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Technical Program Assistant to support the technical program at the Elite Farm by ensuring data accuracy and integrity. From Farrow to Finish, the execution of the genetic improvement program is the core of the function of the farm. This role ensures that the results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, accuracy and cost.
The position is a based at the APEX facility in Mound City, South Dakota.
Responsabilidades y deberes esenciales :- Accurately capture data and complete data entry, in accordance with protocols
- Ensure a high level of database integrity through reviews of reports and tools
- Utilize technology to increase data accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain weekly production records by use of a record keeping system
- Follow testing protocols, as established by appropriate parties, including off-test leg scoring, probing processes, image interpretation and data loading; maintain testing targets as necessary
- Provide management or oversight of collaborative technical projects, as needed
- Understand production flows and dynamics of a Genetic Nucleus farm
- Gain the ability and functional knowledge of all departments (breeding, farrowing, nursery and finishing), with the capacity to assist in daily tasks of any of these departments
- Work cohesively as part of the production staff while executing technical priorities
- Intuitively problem solve a wide variety of tasks from computers to data collection processes
- Make recommendations and train appropriate team/personnel to improve data integrity and selection accuracy
- Possess strong interpersonal communication capabilities
Basic Qualifications: (required)
- A University degree and/or at least two (2) years of experience within contemporary swine production systems
- Proven analytical capabilities to link production data with interventions needed to improve system performance and profitability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications (e.g. MS Office software, PIC specific databases, etc.)
- Proven knowledge of contemporary record keeping systems within contemporary swine production systems
