What We Do
Integer Technologies is an applied research and product development company founded by scientists and engineers with a passion for technology and national security. We perform R&D on next-generation systems and technologies for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other U.S. Government agencies, turning research into impactful products with military and commercial applications. Our core portfolio of research includes projects in power & energy systems, unmanned systems (with an emphasis on maritime systems), digital engineering, and advanced manufacturing.
Our unmanned systems portfolio includes work on critical enabling technologies for more reliable, more intelligent, and longer-duration unmanned systems. We are actively developing a new perception system that automatically detects objects on and just below the surface of the water by fusing sensor data from multi-spectral cameras and radar using reliable and validated machine learning algorithms. Our power & energy systems portfolio includes work supporting the DoD's the electrification of platforms beginning with Navy ships. Applications include hybrid and electric propulsion systems, autonomous controls, and integration with mission systems to achieve ultra-fast power system response.
We are launching a new portfolio of applied research projects aimed at increasing the cyber resilience of cyber-physical systems fielded by the Navy. This includes uncrewed and autonomous systems, next-generation warships, and distributed forward operating bases. These projects will work to ensure Navy systems are able to operate in contested regions across the globe and that the Navy can respond effectively to the pace of change in the cyber battlespace.
About the Role
The Technical Program Manager (TPM) role requires a strong background in traditional program management skills such as organization, communication, scheduling, and reporting while also having a technical understanding of cyber-physical systems, cyber security, electrical power systems, and/or Navy applications. Whereas a Principal Investigator (PI) bears ultimate responsibility for satisfying the scope of a contract on time and on budget, the TPM is simultaneously the PI's deputy to ensure the program is healthy and an in some cases an individual technical contributor, in that order of priority.
The candidate must be organized and detail oriented. This role involves interacting with customers whose needs are constantly evolving and are sometimes difficult to articulate; thus, strong communication skills will also be beneficial. The role involves coordination with prime and subcontractors, so the ability to diligently coordinate efforts and courteously navigate roadblocks is essential. - Organize and prioritize the team's efforts to achieve regular test and demonstration of new features and performance improvements.
- Plan and clearly communicate tasking to the engineering team on multiple timescales (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly). Specifically, own the scheduling aspect of program execution, drive the engineers to achieve the tasking and schedule identified by the PI, and communicate the effects of any slippage in a gracious but firm manner.
- Clearly communicate development plans and status to company executives (COO & CEO).
- Track and forecast costs; report status relative to given metrics monthly to company upper management. Provide recommendations to the PI on how to adjust tasking to track the financial targets.
