About the Job
Our client, a major Sports / Entertainment Company, is seeking a Technical Project Manager as they rapidly expanding its services to drive further fan engagement and growth via smartphones, tablets, PCs, and digital products. This role will be part of the Data Platform and Services team’s portfolios developing backend API’s and Services supporting them. You'll also function as the primary contact collaborating with Product, Technology, Business Intelligence, and numerous engineering teams to harmonize their efforts toward shared company goals. The Technical Program Manager will help ensure teams are aligned with the product roadmap and deliver best-in-class consumer applications for all our products.
Must be committed to working on-site at Midtown NYC location Three (3) days per week.

Rate: $60 - $70 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Become a subject matter expert of the data domain which you are a part of, serving as a direct point of contact for project and team discussions.
- Meet with leaders throughout the Platform & Services organization to craft and execute a strategic vision for enabling organizational program efficiency in an Agile software development lifecycle.
- Drive execution and delivery of multiple high-profile product or software development projects.
- Help define, track, and review key metrics related to organizational health and project delivery.
- Manage communication and build strong relationships with teams across engineering, product, finance, and more.
- Approach software development and project management with a growth mindset, continuously gathering input from teams and iterating on processes.
- Monitor work and measuring results within engineering domains.
- Working with Engineering Leads to develop a roadmap for the program and keeping it in line with the priorities defined by product.
- Collaborate with TPMs in the Data, Innovations & Engineering organization to plan, document, and coordinate the delivery of data products that serve a wide range of stakeholders.
- Facilitate the development of requirements in consideration of known technical capabilities, limitations, and interdependencies across entities.
- Drive execution and delivery of multiple high-profile product or software development projects from start to finish and/or managing the work of one to two midsize to large engineering teams.
- Define and execute a high caliber communication plan for complex projects and programs.
- Contribute to developing a roadmap for the team and maintain it in line with the priorities defined by product.
- Assist teams in story writing, backlog maintenance, prioritization, and planning. Facilitating creation and prioritization of project-level features and backlogs.
- Continuous evaluation of process and seeking for ways to improve at every iteration.
- Lead planning, refinement, and release ceremonies for the engineering team.
- Adapt to changing conditions and modify project execution plans as appropriate.
- Identify blockers and facilitate the removal of those impediments.
- Proactively highlight and resolve risks and issues and clearly communicate those risks to stakeholders.
- Maintain stakeholders informed of day-to-day project statuses, updates, and risk.
- Cultivate relationships across engineering and technical teams to drive progress forward, influence negotiations, and advocate for desired outcomes that best serve our teams.
Experience Requirements:
- Strong technical background. 3+ years of experience building in highly scalable & highly available platforms or services – preferably using AWS, with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Technical Project Manager, or Scrum Master, managing cross-functional projects.
- Preferred certifications: Scrum Master Certification (such as CSM or PSM) or PMP and any other relevant certifications.
- 3+ years experience managing API related projects
- 3+ years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables, and unblock teams to land business impact
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)
- An ability to distill complex issues into solvable and actionable tasks.
- Extensive experience with SDLC methodologies, allowing for flexibility in process.
- Have strong technical proficiency demonstrated in any number of ways, ex. coding skills, quality assurance experience or technical writing background or similar.
- Experienced in Project Management Methodologies, Frameworks, and tooling.
- Experience in managing multiple teams for a program each with varying degrees of maturity on both the Scrum and Traditional program management scale.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to facilitate parties working collaboratively and efficiently.
- An innate problem solver with the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Experience creating KPIs, dashboards and metrics.
- Working knowledge in release planning and management.
- Experience in risk reporting, management, and mitigation.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
