The Department of Health and Welfare is recruiting an individual with exceptional customer service skills for a Technical Records Specialist 1 position with The Division of Youth Safety and Permanency. The position is located at our Pocatello office. This administrative support staff position is a benefits-eligible position that requires attention to detail, invoicing, contracts, exemplary customer service, organization skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
The ideal candidates must be personable and professional with excellent customer service skills, be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have the desire to work in a team environment.
This position is not eligible for telework.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Performs a wide variety of secretarial functions; coordinates non-routine secretarial and clerical activities.
- Gather information, make decisions, resolve problems, and respond to inquiries.
- Perform specialized support work that involves an in-depth knowledge of the program.
- Provide general administrative support to child welfare social workers.
- Provide front desk and phone coverage.
- Review, evaluate, approve, and process records and/or documents.
- Provide accuracy with invoicing and contracts.
- Prepares financial transactions such as credit card transmittals and other bookkeeping records.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.
- Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.
- Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments. These complex decisions could have affected the social or economic well-being of others or would result in a service or action being denied. Typically gained by one year of work experience.
- Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Typically gained by six months of work experience.
SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) products at an intermediate or advanced level. Typically gained by at least one year of experience where these products were used daily as part of job requirements.
